Business Valuations

Most owners have a number in their head. We give you a number you can defend.

We deliver documented, defensible valuations grounded in real comparable-sale data from an active brokerage — not textbook multiples. Having sold more than 1,000 California businesses, we know what they actually trade for.

No cost, no obligation

Opinion of value

A confidential value range for an owner deciding whether, and when, to sell. Based on your records, delivered in a conversation. Free.

When a valuation is needed

  • SBA and acquisition financing — independent third-party valuations for loan files
  • Partner and shareholder buyouts — buy-sell triggers, ownership transitions, disputes
  • Estate and succession planning — gift and estate matters requiring a supported opinion of value
  • Divorce and marital assets — a closely held business valued as a marital asset
  • Sale preparation — what the business is worth before going to market
  • Litigation and disputes — well-documented analysis to support a case

What the client receives

How the engagement works

1. Call
What the business is, why the valuation is needed, and who will rely on it. No charge.
2. Documents
Three to five years of business tax returns, interim profit and loss statements, a balance sheet and an equipment list.
3. Analysis
We normalize the financials, establish SDE, and run the three methods against current market data.
4. Report
Delivered in writing and walked through line by line, including the assumptions made and why.

Flat fee, quoted before any work begins. Most valuations are delivered within two to three weeks of receiving complete records. Everything sent to us is held in confidence. If the client later sells the business through us, the valuation fee is credited toward the transaction.

A valuation prepared by this firm is an opinion of value for the stated purpose. It is not an appraisal, an audit, or tax or legal advice. Where a certified appraisal is required, we will say so and refer it out.
